Course Syllabus
Part 1: Design Theory & Fundamentals (Weeks 1–2)

- Elements & Principles: The building blocks of design (line, shape, form, texture) and how to apply them (balance, contrast, emphasis, rhythm).
- Color Theory: The psychology of colors, color wheels, and palettes (RGB vs. CMYK).
- Typography: Anatomy of a font, pairing typefaces, and text hierarchy for readability.
- Layout & Composition: Grids, white space, and alignment to create visually appealing layouts.
Part 2: Industry-Standard Software Skills (Weeks 3–5)
- Raster Graphics (Adobe Photoshop): Image editing, background removal, masking, and creating digital composites.
- Vector Graphics (Adobe Illustrator): Pen tool mastery, logo design, creating custom icons, and vector illustrations.
- Layout & Publishing (Adobe InDesign): Multi-page document creation, brochures, magazines, and export settings for print.
- Free Alternatives: Many foundational courses teach students how to use free programs like Canva or Photopea in place of premium Adobe software.
Part 3: Practical Projects & Applications (Weeks 6–8)
- Branding & Identity: Creating a logo, brand color palettes, and brand style guide.
- Marketing Materials: Designing business cards, flyers, and social media graphics.
- Print vs. Web: Optimizing files for physical printing versus digital screen formats.
- Portfolio Building: Compiling your practical assignments into a cohesive professional portfolio
